what we believe

We believe the Bible to be verbally inspired and preserved by God, inerrant, and thus to have divine authority in matters of faith and life. (2Tim 3:16; 2Peter 1:21)

We believe in one God eternally existing in three equally divine persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matt 28:19)

We believe that man was specifically created by God, in His own image. By disobedience man sinned and all humans are born with a sinful nature and universally practice sin. No human action can save a person from the judgment of God as a consequence of this sin. (Gen 3; Rom 3:23; Rom 6:23)

We believe Jesus Christ to be the only begotten, eternal Son of God, born of the virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit, truly God and truly human, and the only one whose life was totally without sin. At Calvary He died as a substitute for the guilty, bearing God's judgment against sin. (Matt 1:18-23; 1John 3:5; Rom 5:6,8)

We believe that each person who recognizes his own sinfulness and accepts by faith the value of the death of Christ as being solely able to justify the sinner, immediately and eternally receives salvation as the gift of God.

(Eph 2:8,9; John 5:24)

We believe that Jesus was bodily resurrected from the dead and ascended to heaven where He now intercedes on the believers behalf. (Heb 7:25; 1John 2:1)

We believe that Jesus will return to receive all believers, both living and resurrected, to be eternally with Him.

(1Thess 4:16,17)

We believe that Jesus will return to earth to establish a righteous millennial kingdom which will follow a time of great trouble on the earth. (Matt 24:21; Rev 19:15)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all persons, the saved to enjoy God's presence forever, the lost to be eternally condemned to the lake of fire. (John 5:28, 29; Rev 20:11-15)

We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit who convicts of sin; lives within, seals, and empowers every believer; and who directs the worship and service of the church, giving spiritual gifts to all believers for the building of the church.

(John 16:8; Acts 1:8; Eph 1:13; 1Cor 12:4-13)
